Harvest Thyme

Handmade by me using a design by Chestnut Junction. Both the crow and the pumpkin are made from osnaburg, painted and then sanded. I just love her patterns and they always turn out great. No worries there. Visit my Etsy shop or my Fall page for a closer look.

I just love wood totes, who doesn't. This one is a great color for the upcoming Fall season. Its over on my Etsy shop looking for a new home. Remember I sell for the same price whether you buy from my website or my Etsy shop. I always combine shipping and refund any overage.

I'm so excited.....

I'll be attending THE WORLD'S LONGEST YARDSALE this year. It runs August 6-9 from West Unity, Ohio to Gadsden, Alabama. Its a junkers dream come true, 654 miles of goodies. Plus all the miles to get there and back from Colorado. It should be shopping overload. I shop alot of markets but this will be a first for me. I'll be taking my youngest son and my big truck. If you have attended the sale please leave me a comment I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'll be heading out in two weeks and I can't wait.

Here's a update from yesterday. All fixed!
I handstamped new tags for my Harvest Apples.
Thanks to everyone for their ideas. The sayings are endless. Leave me a comment on your favorite primitive sayings. I'd love to hear them.

Whatcha Working On Wednesday

I posted these drying last week boy where does the time go. I just finished hand stamping their tags. Don't you just love hang tags. I did end up dry brushing them with barn red to add alittle more color to them. I made them using a pattern by Tennessee Ridge Primitives. Stop by my Etsy shop or my Fall catagory for a closer look.

When I got home this eveing and showed my people what I'd posted my youngest said what does that tag mean by the 1700. I told him its just a date, I followed the pattern. After I thought about it I'm going to stamp another tag tomorrow to read Harvest Apples 10 Cents, then you'll have the choice of which one to display.

I also added these darling paper mache pumpkins to my Etsy shop. I made these with the help of my oldest son. A great addition to your Fall decor.

Just added these two reproduction cast iron handles to my Etsy shop and to my Suppies catagory on my website. They have many uses. Handles for a cabinet or trunk, they make a great towel bar or a birdhouse perch. The possibilities are endless....

Whatcha Working On Wednesday

Today I'm working on harvest apples. This was a free pattern from Tennessee Ridge Primitives. She always has a freebie and changes them often. Visit when you can and grab a freebie of your own. You know me I can't make just one I'm making 15 of them. I have them all stuffed and painted. They were given a red wash. I'll leave them overnight to dry and add their stems and leaves along with a handstamped tag tomorrow. I'll post them again when finished. They almost look like pumpkins. Huh! We'll have to see how they dry. I might have to dry brush alittle more red on them. We'll see.

TWO NEW HOMESPUNS FOR FALL

I just added these two homespuns for Fall to my Etsy shop and to my Supplies catagory on Kittrege Mercantile. I know its only July but its time to start thinking ahead for Fall. I'm off to unload my car. I managed to get a few goodies today, a large wood cubbie and four iron pieces from a old porch. Due to their size they are avaiable for local pick up only.

Happy July 4th
I'm One Happy Mom

I hope everyone had/having a safe and fun family filled 4th. I'm one happy mom, at the moment I have both of my sons living back home and today we were watching Nascar and they both were helping me stuff apples my next project. It was a great moment and one I hope to not soon forget. Of course they turned it into a contest how much stuffing can we stuff in the apples. After a few fixed seams and alittle more/less stuffing all are finished. My boys have always been a big help to me. I know most of the time they think I'm crazy but by now they have learned to just go along with me. I hope you too have made a few new memories with you and yours.

All Finished

I finished working on my pumpkin head dolls just a bit ago. Aren't they darling?
They are on Etsy and my Fall catagory looking for their new homes. Take a peek. Their twine wrap in the front reminds me of school back when we had safeties. I had a safety belt just like that when I was hall monitor. I was so cool. I'd better quit showing my age and get back to work.

As soon as I finished my pumpkin heads it was on to my next project.
I had to try my hand at stamping a sign. I use a cabinet door as the base.
Painted it black and white then I taped off the white to try to help keep the letters straight.
I see I have alittle more space left on the right side than on the left. Oh well, its primitive.
Not bad for my first attempt.

Whatcha Working On Wednesday

Today I'm working on making the dresses for Pumpkin Head. I got the dresses made and coffee dyed, the twine painted and beads stained for her trim. Everything is drying over night. I hope to finish them up in the next couple of days. The last photo is of the scrap I had left from the dresses. Not much and I like it that way because I think I have to save every little piece. I'm going to use the scrap for the leaves on my next project. I was short on fabric and I had to piece the dresses at the bottom it just makes them that much more primitive. I'll post them again when they are ready for their new homes.

I also added these two vintage items to my Etsy Shop. I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th.
